Lumibini: In the present time it is belongs from the country Nepal and is one of the most visited pilgrimage destination for the Buddhist followers. This place was the birth place of Lord Buddha. The great emperor Asoka erected an Asoka pillar during 3rd century BCE which is still in the same position. This place Is also coming under the UNESCO world heritage sites.

Bodhagaya: It is another important and most visited pilgrimage destination for the Buddhist followers. In this place lord Buddha got enlightenment by sitting under the Bodhi tree. The Mahabodhi temple is the most preferred and visited destination of this place which was constructed in the 6th century AD. This temple is situated very next to the Maha Bodhi tree. It also comes under the UNESCO world heritage site.

After got the enlightenment Buddha was moved towards Sarnath where he delivered his first sermon to the 5 companions with whom he first saw them after got the enlightenment. The spot where he delivered his first sermon is identified as the Dhamek Stupa which is the oldest stupa in the world. Some other visiting attractions of Sarnath are Chaukhandi Stupa, the ruins of Dharmarajika Stupa and the Mulgandhakuti Vihara etc.
Lastly, Kushinagar is the place where Lord Buddha finally achieve Parinirvana . In this place he was cremated and his relics are categorized into 10 major portions and spread amongst the faithful. The parinirvana temple, parinirvana stupa and the major spot where the relics were divided are the major visiting destinations especially visited by huge number of Buddhist followers.
Lord Buddha attained Parinirvana before approx. 2000 years ago but he guided his follower the right path which will help them to come out from the cycle of life and death and can easily achieve nirvana. These above mentioned holy sites are regularly visited by huge number of devotees regularly from all across the globe.
